Focus F2 frieze patterns have a single point of symmetry and no lines of symmetry.

Tasks

1. Create a quadrilateral like the one shown in the first row above and fill its interior as shown in the second row.

2. Mark the midpoint of the center line as the turn center for a rotation.

3. Select the vertices of the quadrilateral and its interior, then rotate 180 degrees as shown in row three above.

4. Manipulate the vertices so that the original figure and its rotation match perfectly and so that there are no lines of symmetry.

5. Compare your figure to the letter N found in the figure below. Do they have the same symmetries?
